I am nervous because my dog has never boarded before.

As a result of the special hands-on care, comfortable accommodations, competent & well-trained team, the quality of the facility, and the number of personalized activities we offer, our guests usually adapt very well and enjoy the wonderful experience of being part of our family. If you have any concerns, please feel free to stop by anytime during business hours for a tour of our boarding accommodations and facility.

Do I need to bring food for my dog?

All of our canine guests are fed Purina Pro Plan dog food during their stay. If your pet is on a special diet, or they have a particular food they enjoy, you are welcome to provide your pet’s regular food. If you choose to bring your own food, please pack the food in a sealed container or a sealable bag. Feeding time is early morning and mid-afternoon. Pets can be fed once or twice a day. For those pets that are grazers, we can leave a bowl of food for them to nibble on throughout the day. We are happy to accommodate your pet should they need specific feeding instructions. It is recommended you limit the amount of food you provide your pet on the day of admission due to the natural excitement your pet may experience upon arrival at Chisholm Creek Pet Resort. Likewise, food and water should be limited for the first hour or two after your pet arrives home. This will allow your pet ample time to settle down before feeding.

What should I have prepared for my pet’s arrival?

Activity and bathing requests should be made at the time the reservation is made. Current vaccination records for Rabies, Distemper/Parvo (DHLPP), Bordetella, and Canine Influenza should be requested by your vet to be faxed or emailed before your arrival date. Our fax number is (316) 854-5427 and email is info@chisholmcreekpetresort.com. When dropping your pet off, please make sure to provide contact numbers just in case we need to contact you.

What is your cancellation policy for reservations?

During certain busy seasons and holidays, we require a $50 deposit to guarantee your pet’s reservation. That deposit will be deducted from your balance upon departure. If you need to change or cancel a reservation, please notify us at least 7 days in advance to avoid the forfeiture of your deposit.

What happens when a pet in our care needs veterinary care?

If your pet should require medical attention while in our care, we make every attempt to contact you or your emergency contact. If we are unable to reach you, our customary procedure is to contact your veterinarian. All charges incurred will be your responsibility. If it is an emergency, we will take your pet to the closest veterinarian.

I’d like my dog to get exercise while lodging. What are my options?

Can I pick up my dog on a Sunday?

Most boarding kennels are closed on Sundays, but as a courtesy to our customers, we provide checkout hours from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Like hotels, our rates are based on the day of lodging, not as an overnight charge, therefore you will be charged a day of lodging if you are picking up on a Sunday or after 12 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
